Dan is passionate about using modern teaching practices based on research to help create lifelong learners. It is this passion that drives his approach to teaching and learning. It is this drive that caused him to create pdhpe.net, TeachersPD and host The Effective Teaching podcast. Dan is innovative in his drive to become the best educator possible and seeks to inspire others to master the craft of teaching.
Dan has been providing professional learning for educators for over 5 years. He has presented for the EdTechTeam, ACHPER NSW, ACHPER National, and the PDHPE Teachers Association, as well as completing work for NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Dan has provided NESA accredited consultation services since 2018 covering topics such as:
- G-Suite for Education (Google Applications)
- Flipped Learning
- Curriculum evaluation and design
- Current pedagogical practice
- Coaching and mentoring
Dan has been teaching Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) since 2006 and has been involved with two professional bodies for his subject area. He was a regional representative for the PDHPE Teacher’s Association as well as a Board Member for the Australian Council of Health and Physical Education and Recreation NSW Branch. He is the Deputy Principal and VET Compliance Officer at SEDA College NSW and is qualified in Sport and Recreation as well as Business Services.
Dan is currently a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator as well as a Flipped Learning Certified Trainer offering consultation in technology and pedagogical approaches for your faculty or whole school .
