To ensure we are providing gourmet units with fantastic teaching and learning experiences for our students to help them not just do well in their HSC but prepare them for life after school

This workshop is well suited for first time and experienced stage 6 teachers who would like to gather more resources and ideas on how to teach PDHPE.

In preparation for the workshop Dan encourages attendees to view a few short videos that unpack some of the key aspects of the syllabus and help prepare you for the workshop.

During the workshop Dan will provide you with hands on activities to explore some of the key pieces of content with your students. Providing a repertoire of teaching and learning strategies as well as resources that you can implement in your classroom.

This workshop will guide you through the process of creating “gourmet units” and provide you with time to develop your teaching and learning programs while challenging you to think deeply about your approach to stage 6 education. Dan will also provide you with access to two of his gourmet units including assessment tasks.

At the end of the workshop you will be provided with more videos that provide strategies to help your students improve their learning and some of the best practices you can engage in to advance them forward in preparing for the HSC Exam.

Support is provided after the workshop through an online forum where further collaboration is encouraged. You are also provided access to a shared Google drive with resources that both Dan and other teachers have shared.

What previous attendees said about the workshop

“Great to get a heap of new strategies on how to teach boring concepts (core 1) and I can also walk away with other great ideas due to the collaborative networking that took place. Great idea. Fantastic food.”
“An excellent and thoroughly engaging PD session to shift the focus of programming for the senior course towards learning beyond the classroom and exam – which really should be every PDHPE teachers dream!!”
“Fantastic PL. The day went way too quick – everything from the content, activities and opportunities to work with other PDHPE staff, to the food was brilliant. The resources were thorough and the opportunity to collect work through collaboration was great.”
“A fantastic course that was really worthwhile and certainly worth the drive to the blue mountains. Dan has an enormous knowledge and understanding and his ideas are without doubt best practice in PDHPE. I can’t wait to implement what I have learnt back at school starting tomorrow”
